“It is wonderful what GOD can do with a broken heart, if you give HIM all the pieces.” Samuel Chadwick

Isaiah 30:14 (In a summary reference to those who reject HIS molding and HIS will) “Whose collapse is like the smashing of a Potter’s jar, So ruthlessly shattered that a sherd will not be found among its pieces to take fire from a hearth or to scoop water from a cistern.”

Isaiah 45:9 “Woe to the one who quarrels with his Maker — an earthenware vessel among the vessels of earth! Will the clay say to the Potter, ‘What are you doing?” Job 23:10 “But He knows the way I take; and when He has tried me, I shall come forth as gold.”

A “sherd” (shard) is a sliver from a broken object, pottery or glass let’s say, that was once a whole vessel. It is with confusion, even bewilderment, that I have found myself in contrast with GOD’s direction which, in retrospect turned out later to be the way I should have gone. From the Crossroads Trilogy title poem “Stained Reflections”, I wrote, “Would then this pen could boast that self was broken long ago and that for years this shard of glass has displayed in Heaven’s glow!”

When HE touches us anew, our hardened exterior AND callous heart is heated into a malleable material again! Soft clay! Ready for HIS hands to reform and restore to the form HE first gave us! Though I could fill a page or two with continuous words of Regret, yet I will rather praise HIM for HIS direction and RE-direction of this vessel through both my “whole” seasons and those of “brokenness” as well. Lift your broken pieces - all - to CHRIST alone who shall revive us again! We shall not just be whole vessels when HE returns for us, but we will be transformed into golden, illuminated perfection as HE is! Amen and amen!

Shard Submission

No one stands before YOU
to - with arrogance - dismiss directions.
which YOU - with sovereign patience - gave
to all who call YOUR NAME.
Our nature - made of Flesh
has - most certainly - YOUR wisdom challenged.
as though - worthy of debating!

LORD! Have mercy on this frame!

By allowing us breath
for devotional voices with worship.
thus commissioned are we surely
to give YOU highest praise!
Thus, I bow before YOU
seeking suppression of this prideful soul
so that all my broken pieces
are in these hands - upraised!

Return me to the Wheel
for Transformation’s full renewal!
Change each shard - most often hardened
till ’tis fluid - once again!
LORD, mold me in that moment
so this vessel well reflects YOUR image!
Indwell me then, my SAVIOUR dear.
Make me whole once more, I pray!

Directed Praise is, in this context, self evident. Your praise is directed towards Heaven and Heaven’s LORD JESUS CHRIST. Our challenge in worshipping HIM with songs and hymns and positive words is found in being defocused or unfocused…as it were. We are often guilty of voicing such negative things as well as permitting others round us to do the same.

Beloved! At the end of any day, can’t HE do as HE wishes? Isn’t HE able to remove mountains and fight with and for us? Can you convince me otherwise? May it never be! The reason for my adamant tone is that I feel the approach of a constant and increasing, demonically driven force.

It is screaming in my ear to pay attention to facts and not truths. We’ve discussed this before but Truths are what GOD says. Facts are what our eyes behold and what we “think” is happening next. We must maintain focus! A wise mentor “introduced” me to the wisdom keys of Mike Murdock. In them, focus is a mandatory, irreducible minimum which we must maintain in our walk with our Saviour!

There are countless scriptures of keeping our eyes focused on things above and making sure our speech and actions are in line with HIS sight. My encouragement through poems and devotionals is the same as it has been for 30+ years. These are to uplift you and direct you to HIS Word! Therein is Peace. Within each page resides the MASTER’s instructions and plans for us to follow.

Therefore! Direct your praise to our LORD! Focus your listening and your sight only on what HE says and does. Praise THEE, oh LORD…my GOD! Amen and amen!

Directed Praise
And so nothing changes, complaints…they continue from souls who see only their view of this life. Missing the blessing of Joy’s expectations, so favor they strife which their vision beholds.
Since none can dissuade them, their burdens are transferred from what they should bear to the frames of HIS sheep. Thus causing concern and distress, they defocus the children HE pleases to have and to hold.
What then? Has HE fallen or failed HIS promise? What then? Is HE weak or unable to save? Ten thousand times, “No!” HE alone secures Victory whose waves display peace and Love’s measures – untold!
As such, with Detractors…grant them no attention nor heed any “crisis” endorsement they voice! Rather, press forward with trust in our Saviour! Your only choice! So! Praise the ONE in control!

As HIS servant in your service,
WVW Jasnoch

II Kings 17:13 “The Lord warned Israel and Judah through all his prophets and seers: “Turn from your evil ways.
Nehemiah 9:29 “You warned them to return to your law, but they became arrogant and disobeyed your commands. They sinned against your ordinances, by which a man will live if he obeys them.

Stubbornly they turned their backs on you, became stiff-necked and refused to listen.”

Jeremiah 11:7 “From the time I brought your forefathers up from Egypt until today, I warned them again and again, saying, “Obey ME!”

Simply stated. HE is Love and cares deeply for us. HE knows our names and HE sings to each of us. Be careful then, beloved, to heed the WORD of the LORD and being warned as such, both find and walk in HIS favor. Amen and amen.

By This

Warnings are blessings disguised for our good, well designed for the ear which has not understood; which has turned aside – deaf – and has quickly ignored what the LORD has decreed for those wayward.

Nothing is new since displayed by Heaven’s Son are our sin-staining contrasts to all HE has done.

Still some errors, though past, forged a path we’ve “well worn”

…so we choose our “oblivious” actions.

Hence angels and prophets HE sends in our midst with HIS WORD to restrain every footstep amiss.

Yet if you cast aside HIM, then GOD is my witness… that by this, you have been well warned.

Job 23:10 “But HE knows the way that I take; and when HE has tested me, I shall come forth as gold.”

My challenge might be the same as yours. Has anyone ever told you that a path you are choosing is “taking a step backwards?” To be certain such a comment has great merit from those who love us and follow CHRIST as well. But even well meaning intentions which use earthly vision often “define” what is the best step for another.

There are times when an apparent retreat is the most necessary step in order to progress later. When one acquiesces (big word meaning “gives way to another”), I have found it is to avoid conflict, to admit internal error and recognized the “right” path, or it is in resignation. Surrender, Forfeit, etc.

So when one says that I “need” to go somewhere or do something in my walk with CHRIST…I am confronted with a crossroads. Do I take their definition without matching it against scripture? May it never be! Do I then check a few verses, say a couple prayers and finding no contradiction….proceed? What is that best “next step?”

We are each unique and the product of HIS craftsmanship. As such, the best “next step” for each of us is equally unique. Yes, there are often repeated paths that simple instructions can be given to help avoid such pains. However, I would encourage your increased study of HIS WORD to gain how Heaven’s Sovereignty defines it…specific to your life.

Easier said than done, to be sure. Even so, HE knows and leads and guides me. As long as I seek HIS face and HIS wisdom for my life, then I need not be anxious when someone tells me I’m losing ground or that I need to “Step Up!” and not backwards. Again, pray without ceasing and seek HIS face constantly for confirmation of directions.

What seems like a delay to others or the “wrong way” is simply because they lack the view…which HE has given you alone.

Stay the course! Serve relentlessly! Amen and amen!

By Sovereignty Defined

Life’s ever changing tide is like an eagle – ever circling whose flights through every day retreat as oft as they progress. Thus! Each hour is different as each wave or situation comes. As such, sometimes Success arrives because one moves aside.

Against the Current’s force so shall the Body journey forward unmoved by earthly plans… yet compelled by hands from Heaven. And when that time arrives wherein one must consider steps restrained, then may GOD’s wisdom flow through you as though a zealous flood.

For, with HIS indwelling, one shall – with Safety – travel daily though they stand or walk or run while progressing…or retreating. So, as True’s Companion shall these steps of mine be found in HIS unwavering as well… because HE knows the way I take!

Devotional: “The needs of the many outweigh the needs of the one.” This point can be viewed from at least two perspectives. One, if CHRIST had looked after only HIMSELF, then we as the human race would be lost forever…without Hope. And secondly, if we individually look after only our own salvation, then those who need to hear GOD’s message…may not hear it. Least of all, we delay them knowing the LORD and having Hope for this life and the one to come.

Matthew 28:19-20 “Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptising them to the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit; teaching them to observe all that I commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.”

The joy we seek is most surely found in transferring the message from our hearts to the masses. There is no clearer instruction than that. May we all be more passionate about this command! Amen and amen!

As Instructed

The Despondent cried out, “Take me, LORD, in this hour” I am pressed beyond standing! No more to endure!” Please return me to Heav’n where YOUR thoughts had first formed me! Yes, quickly, LORD JESUS! Come quickly, I pray!

Then all “others” will notice some burden removal when - gone - is this vessel and absent its contents! Please return me to Heav’n where YOUR hands - this frame - molded! Yes, hear me, LORD JESUS! Please hear me, I beg!

Then came GOD JEHOVAH’s reply - intervening “With MY essence indwelling, your vessel shall stand! With both faith and belief in MY purposes - greater, then shall your view quickly - at present - be changed!

You have breath in this moment and yet shall have more since your vessel’s design came from ME, your Provider! Without influence of Fear and without your assumptions; With perfection, I planned that your presence remain!”

For the masses are calling who know not MY WORD! since unheard is Love’s message I placed within you! So return to MY steps where your purpose is waiting! Yes, quickly, dear Child! Go quickly, I say!

As HIS servant in your service,

Jeremiah 1:5 “Before I formed thee in the belly I knew thee; and before thou camest forth out of the womb I sanctified thee, and I ordained thee a prophet unto the nations.” HE knows your name! The Maker of all and the Creator of your soul…knows your name! Stand fast! Stay the course! Finish the race for our hope is in CHRIST!!!

Love’s melody whispers its’ praises as well.
Applaud HIM through songs which your heart strings compel!
Yes, sing Hallelujah! HE reigns!

Abandon all trust in the Flesh for your help!
Yes, sing Hallelujah! HE reigns!

Proverbs 17:28 “Even a fool, when he keeps silent, is considered wise; when he closes his lips, he is considered prudent.” And Ecclesiastes 10:3 “Even when the fool walks along the road, his sense is lacking and he demonstrates to everyone that he is a fool.” Proverbs 1:7 “The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge: but fools despise wisdom and instruction.”

There are three very key points I wish to make.

ONE! When negative things happen or contrasting forces come against what we’re trying to do…we quickly voice our complaint. Suggestion to self: “Wait upon the LORD! That means listen first and often and not for just a few seconds!” This means listening WITHOUT simply waiting to respond or holding back our compliant until we feel “enough time has passed!” Be still and watch the hand of Almighty GOD!

TWO! When we permit some level of “obsession” in spending time trying to “figure out” how GOD is going to “have to work around my obstacles” to rescue us…then such is Sin. Why? Because it never is just for a “couple minutes”. Eventually it consumes us in both waking and sleeping hours. Essentially we equate the success of HIS rescue or provision based on whether we understand it or not. Or…if we can “make sense” of it all. Faith is believing in things not seen!

Trusting in HIM fully requires then the surrender of such purposeless pursuits! We are to be wise, yes. We are to study and learn, yes. But Surrender must happen and you must yield when you first realize “I have no clue how HE’s going to do this!” Rest in HIM!!

THREE! To me, fearing GOD regarding directions can be summed up in my phrase I repeat inwardly…so often. “Leave HIS plans…in HIS hands” As I walk, as we read in Ecclesiastes, people can tell whether you’re at peace or not. You can only go through the motions for “so long” before someone points out that you aren’t really trusting GOD. Walk in HIS will, in HIS ways, and with HIS wisdom so that HIS Peace is yours always! Amen and amen!

The Wiser Mute

When the stakes are raised

beyond one’s grasp to comprehend,

much less obtain;

then such is proof of sure dependence…

with every need of HIM who knows our names.

For none can fathom

HIS compassion…nor designs

HE planned – restrain!

Thus! Peace – discovered

is JESUS if within HIS steps – we stay!

Cast aside, therefore,

the “need to know”…

each inch along our travels past.

Much wasted time ‘tis

found in those who analyzed each “beaten path”!

For this precursor

only leads to

“Fool’s Debates” with “Future planning!”

Then caught between their

works and HIS, Peace leaves them empty handed!

Still many struggle,

self included,

to simply walk without dispute!

Thus choose HIS perfect plans or

at the very least, remain thee…mute!

Devotional: When one tells of their sins through tears, then the listener who is sensitive to the SPIRIT of GOD…is moved to encourage. But what of those who come often, with the same sin AND not the same brokenness. Thank GOD that we are not so viewed in HIS eyes!! “For by grace you have been saved through faith….” HIS finished work and Love must be our focus and not our repeated failures lest our loathing of self drags others away from HIM! Amen and amen!

Self Focused Sin

Self loathing is a worthy act unless Obsession finds it. Then worthless such becomes because of Pride. Ah, yes! The Ego stains with force till every word – annoying… destroys Confessions’ humble cause until it dies. As such, abandon self denial till its voice is heard no more with brokenness unbound…because of HIM!

Thus, “Guilty!” pleas repeated soon exceed one’s praise of GOD… when all Attention’s light…is turned within! Speak little then of “Loathing” since – as flesh – we daily fall… yet our faith resides in CHRIST, our risen LORD! Let your speech then lift HIS NAME and not your multitude of stains… because our souls HE saved by Grace…and nothing more!

As HIS servant in your service,

Flashpoint

This ransomed soul bleeds briefly
but not because HIS sacrifice
was any less than Sin required.
Rather since self clings to both
Calvary’s cross and this, my life;
so Pride’s “Lukewarm” status stands admired.

Thus often being wounded
so, on “middle ground”, I stand;
a fool who daily welcomes needless pains.
If no more was self enslaved!
GOD! I beg! Please understand!
Oh, grant me freedom from my errant chains.

Then with sudden strength, HIS light
shone upon this desperate soul
with sovereign revelation and release!
“Such pains are self inflicted!
No one can escape their toll.
save - willingly - their ways they do concede.”

“So I call for your concessions!
Press until your heart ignites!
But why distant and apart do you remain?
Set now the air surrounding
well ablaze with Worship light.
and no more from separate shores towards ME pray!”

As HIS servant in your service,
